Who do you call to force honesty on our out-of-control politicians?
Our goal is to bring together all the people who hate corruption but don’t know where to go or what to do. All the people who gave up voting, gave up calling or writing their representatives. Our goal is to build a nationwide force of 5 to 10 million citizens against corruption. We plan to perfect our method for growing a large group, on a local scale, and then go across the country using radio ads to find supporters and connectors in every state. It’s all paid for by our founders so it won’t cost you a dime. We are not here to make money or ask for money and you will never see an ad on our website.

We have chosen to focus all our efforts on pork barrel earmarks. Experts consider them to be the “Gateway to Corruption”. Politicians use earmarks to funnel money to their friends, cronies, and relatives. It’s a good way to buy an election using our money. (The money that goes to our government belongs to every one of us, whether we paid taxes or not). By focusing all our efforts on pork barrel earmarks, we will have the best chance for success. We will tackle other problems after we stop earmarks. The only way we are going to get our government back, the only way we are going to even start to put together a large cohesive group, is for a lot of people to do a small amount of work. We already have a small group in place who will put in a lot of work for however long it takes. We got into this corruption mess by doing almost nothing. To get out of this mess we need to do more than just talk or just sign a piece of paper.

We are asking everyone to give us a 30-day trial run. This will give you time to see that we are for real. You will have a chance to get comfortable with the idea that you can make a difference. As you see other people like yourself getting lots of signatures from people they talk to regularly, you will see the simplicity of our plan and the potential for success. This isn’t rocket science. A little success can go a long way. There are a lot of people out there who love our country and just need a little encouragement. Once they see that together we can create a large group and have a strong influence on political behavior, we will have a much easier time building a large team. Our goal is to have 100,000 new members from our local drive by Labor Day 2009. We will then expand to every state with a goal of 4 million by January 2010. Our Plan
It’s all based on one simple premise - it’s easy to talk to friends and relatives and people you interact with on a regular basis. We don’t expect you to try to convert anyone or hard sell this to anyone. Talk to people you are comfortable with - remind them of how bad corruption is and that every year it costs every person in this country an extra $3000 or more for food, clothing, shelter, and energy because of corruption. Be enthusiastic but not pushy. Guide everyone over to honestyforamerica.com and make sure they sign the petition, or you can get their info on a printed petition and then enter the info into the website email boxes. Stay enthusiastic and keep in touch with all the people you sign up. Try to encourage everyone who signs up with us to be a connector like you. You will find lots of people who will talk to you and visit our website and then be very enthusiastic about our project. Steer people to our website if they are skeptical.

It’s kind of like multi-level marketing. You can create a huge group under you by having the people who you sign up repeat the same thing down the line - over and over. Except, you aren’t selling anything and I never met anyone who didn’t want to stop corruption in Washington. We welcome people who just want to sign the petition (supporters) but we need lots of connectors to spread the word. Try to become a connector.

Here's How This Will Work
Just about everyone asks us: "What good are all these petitions and how will they make any difference?" We can count our petitions and know how many people are our team. Big numbers equal big voting power. We will be asking all of our members to take part in phone blitz campaigns or mass mail campaigns to prove our vote power to people up for election. We will send our own representatives to visit elected officials to show them that we mean business and that we will use our votes to help elect candidates who vote to stop all ear marks. (remember once they were not legal). We can also be a huge volunteer force to elect any candidate who supports stopping corrupt earmarks. There are many tight election races where our votes or our volunteer phone calls can easily be the deciding factor.
